Wining Ogidi Omo @ 53

Daniel with wife

BY GBENGA SALAU

LAST Monday, Ogun State indigenes trooped out in large number to celebrate the 53rd birthday of their governor, Gbenga Daniel (OGD).
For Daniel, fondly called ‘the Peoples Governor’ by admirers, it was not just an opportunity to unwind, but also praise God, while rededicating his life to the service of God.
At a church service held at the Valley View Auditorium, Agbein Hill of the Government House, Abeokuta, Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly, who gave the exhortation, urged Daniel to be firm in the face of the on-going political crises rocking the state, saying: “In the midst of crisis, continue to do good and who is wrong and what is wrong will later wear out.”
He enjoined the governor not to worry because the Lord will help him to overcome them.
But it was not all a preaching session, as guests were treated to good music from the PMAN Evergreen Awardee and soul winner, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, who dished out melodious tunes at the event.
The wife of the governor, Yeye Funke Daniel, was not left out of the show, as she was everywhere, moving from one table to another appreciating those who had come to celebrate with her husband.
Prominent people at the event include the General Overseer of Foursquare Church in Nigeria, Rev. (Dr) Wilson Badejo; the Alake of Egbaland; Oba Adedokun Gbadebo, the Olowu of Owu and Oba Adegboroye Dosunmu, among other traditional rulers.
