2face leads campaign against fake drugs

As part of activities to mark his 10th anniversary as an artiste, hip-hop star, Tuface Idibia has entered into partnership with Love Idoko’s Motivation Magazine, to stage a campaign against fake drugs in Benue State. The even billed for November 13, in Markurdi, the Benue State capital, will parade notable entertainers, who will be joining in the sensitisation campaign.
Idibia, who was recently appointed an Ambassador of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), will be using the platform to campaign against the menace of fake drugs that has been killing many innocent citizens of the state and beyond. The event will mark the artiste’s first public outing in his home state since his appointment by the agency.
For the first leg of the event, Tuface alongside other invited entertainers, Love Odoko-led Motivation Magazine team and NAFDAC team to be led by the DG, Dr. Paul Orhii, will tour major secondary schools in Markurdi, crating awareness among teenagers on the danger that fake drugs pose to human health.
The awareness tour will culminate into a night of music and comedy later in the evening, at the In-door Hall, Kontagora Complex, Makurdi, where participants will be thrilled buy the artistes. To be anchored by Nollywood actors, Desmond Elliot and Ada Ameh, the night of fun will feature artistes such as Gordons, I Go Dye, J Marttins, Bovi and others, who have already indicated interest to join Tuface in the campaign.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Love Idoko whose magazine is at the forefront of the planning, assured that her team is working round the clock to ensure a successful outing.
“We understand the importance of this event, so, we are taking it very serious. Though putting up major events such as this is a difficult task, we are not leaving any stone unturned in our effort to make the best out of this campaign. Our partnership with Tuface to mark his 10th year anniversary will surely become a reference point in Benue State as far as event management is concerned. So, everybody should look forward for great outing.”

Kwame, El, Basketmouth to anchor NMVA
Shortly after releasing names of artistes billed to perform at the Nigerian Music Video Award holding today at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, organizers of the event have disclosed plans to have three anchors for the award ceremony that aims at celebrating quality music video.
According to a release made available to the media, notable comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Baskethmouth, Femi Aderibigbe (Kwame) and El will man the stage at the event, which promises to surpass previous editions.
Kwame, a broadcaster with about 17years experience, has anchored series of events in the past. He is also the CEO of Nigezie, a 24-hours music and lifestyle channel in Nigeria.
El on her part, is a one of the fast rising actress cum musician in the country. She had in the past, backed notable artistes in the and also featured in some movies and soap operas.
Comedian Baskethmouth needs not much introduction; the Abia State native has carved a niche for himself I the comedy scene. The comedian is expected to spice up proceeding at the award ceremony. As usual, Basket, as he’s fondly called, has promised to be at his very best. Aside his role as anchorman, he will also be joining other invited comedians to thrill the gathering.
Meanwhile, fuji artiste, Adewale Ayuba has be included in the list of artiste expected to perform at the event. He will be joining D’Banj, Wande Coal, Batman Samini from Ghana, MI, Sammie Okposo and Bracket, who have been unveiled earlier by the organisers.

Area Fada set to drop new album

Sequel to the successful hosting of Abuja-based Deejays in preparation for the release of his forth-coming album, Untitled, Area Fada, Caheley Boy Oputa sneaked into town penultimate weekend to sample his latest work in Lagos radio stations as a way of re-affirming his full return into the music scene.
The interactive and listen session, which took place in his hotel room somewhere in Ikeja, had top music presenters and DJs in attendance. According to plans, all roads will lead to the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, on November 2, for the album listening party.
Already, two songs out of the album, Carolina, the re-make version of Dr.Alban’s ‘Carolina’ and Shayo Plenty are currently enjoying airplay on different radio stations across the country.
While Area Fada is still in search for the best marketer for the album, as well as preparing for the arrival of Dr Alban to Nigeria for the album listen party, Commercial Waist, which video is yet to be released on air, is another hit track that will confirm the full return of the ageless entertainer.

The Introduction of 36 States

After years of fine-tuning his beats in Europe, Nigerian-born artiste, Edet Otioro popularly known as 36 States in the music scene, is back in the country for the launch of his debut effort, My Introduction.
Though not much is known about him in the country, the Akwa Ibom State native has been singing for the past 12 years, touring Europe and some parts of Africa. The new album, he said, is a souvenir to his fatherland.
“I actually came back to Nigeria to start my Africa tour from here; Nigeria still remains my home and I belong here. I want to contribute my own quota to the industry and to probably change some ills in the music scene here,” he said.
Also a music producer and songwriter, some tracks in the yet to be released album include Na Only U, Indiana Jones, and others.
On why he opted for 36 States as stage name, Edet informed that, “I’m trying to represent the 26 states of the federation; my music cuts across boundaries.”
His lyrics of most times dwell on the many problems facing the world. He practically dedicated one of the songs, Children Cry, to the many kids, who are suffering in different parts of the world for the wrong doings of the leaders.
Meanwhile, as part of his contribution, 36 States is setting up a record studio and label called State Record. His mission is to help alleviate the many problems faced by up-coming acts in their efforts to break into the mainstream of the music industry.
